چکیده
در 18 اردیبهشت 1397 مطابق با 8 می 2018 دونالد ترامپ رییس جمهور ایالات متحده آمریکا از توافق هسته‌ای با ایران که در قالب برنامه جامع اقدام مشترک (برجام) بین ایران و کشورهای 1+5 امضا شده یود خارج شد. پس از خروج ایالات متحده از برجام، برخی ماهیت نظام بین الملل و تحولاتی صورت گرفته در آن و برخی دیگر نیز ماهیت دولت جدید در ایالات متحده و حتی دولت ایران را از عوامل تاثیرگذار در تصمیم‌ دولت ایالات متحده دانستند. با این وجود این پژوهش عنوان می‌کند که سطح سومی را نیز می‌توان برای بررسی دلایل خروج ایالات متحده آمریکا از توافق هسته‌ای با ایران در نظر گرفت که آن هم سطح تحلیل فردی(شخصیت خود دونالد ترامپ) است. این به معنی کم اهمیت جلوه دادن دو سطح دیگر نیست، بلکه نگاه سومی است که جزئیات بیش‌تری را از عوامل منجر شونده به خروج آمریکا از توافق بیان می‌کند. بنابراین دو استدلال مرتبط با هم مطرح می‌شود. اول اینکه ترامپ دارای برخی ویژگی‌های شخصیتی بود که محرک وی برای تصمیم‌های بی پروا بود. روحیه معامله‌گری، جاه-طلبی، واقع بینی و پوپولیست بودن از جمله این ویژگی‌ها است. دوم، تاثیرپذیری دونالد ترامپ ازدیگران به ویژه افرادی که آخرین مشاوره‌ها به وی می‌دادند در تصمیم ترامپ در مورد توافق هسته‌ای با ایران دخیل بود. در این مورد می‌توان به تاثیر پذیری دونالد ترامپ از جان بولتون مشاوره امنیت ملی و مایک پمپئو وزیر خارجه آمریکا که هر دو از مخالفان سرسخت توافق با ایران بودند اشاره کرد.
